Chapman told attendees that Phase 1 of the project was in place, with more features to be added over time.

Currently available at the sports complex are a lighted multi-use field complex with three full-size multi-use fields, three baseball/softball fields, a combination restroom-concession building, a separate restroom building located next to the multi-use field area, a playground with equipment, green space and picnic areas, and a parking lot.

Chapman announced that Phase 1b of the project is already funded and underway and is to include additional security cameras and playground equipment, a baseball PA system, a one-mile walking path around the perimeter of the property, tennis and pickleball courts, and a special needs play area.

He outlined the history of the project and spoke of “key partnerships” that had made the sports complex a reality, conveying thanks to numerous people and businesses and particularly to county staff members who had worked on the project.
