Customary use notices sent out to beachfront property owners [PREMIUM]

HB 631, LEGISLATION APPROVED by the state that took effect in July 2018, and that negated Walton County’s existing customary use beach ordinance, was followed by an increase in “private beach” and “no trespassing” signs being put up by beachfront property owners in Walton County. With a legal complaint filed on Dec. 11, Walton County is seeking a declaration of the existence of customary use of the beach. HB 631 provides for owners of property associated with the county complaint to oppose the declaration by intervening in the matter with the court. (Photo by Dotty Nist)
