On Aug. 15 the Paxton High School Key Club asked the Paxton Council what they could do for the city of Paxton, it was then decided that they would paint a mural on an exterior wall of Paxton Town Hall. At the following meeting on Sept. 19 the PHS Key Club pitched their idea for the mural to be of the city of Paxton’s seal. This past Friday, Oct. 6, the club began the project and as a great show of teamwork successfully completed the mural that same day – along with providing some maintenance to the grounds such as picking up trash and pulling weeds. As a stencil, the club used a projector to project the image of the seal onto the wall and trace its outline. “We really wanted to do something for our city of Paxton. We often go to DeFuniak and help there, but we wanted to do something for our home town,” said club president Caylor Dixen. The colorful, well-detailed mural is now complete and the club is very happy with how it turned out.
