Marvel of Flight Fly-In and Expo set for Saturday, March 30 in DeFuniak Springs

Event organizers have finalized plans for the 9th annual Marvel of Flight Fly-In and Expo scheduled for Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the DeFuniak Springs Airport, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. The event features a large display of vintage and unique aircraft, exhibits, skydiving demonstrations, car show, live entertainment, educational presentations and food and merchandise vendors from 8am to 4 p.m. Free parking and admission.  However, in lieu of and admission fee, guests are asked to bring a canned good to support the Matrix, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals and families in need in Walton and Okaloosa counties.

“We enjoy watching children and their parents marvel at the unique aircraft on display,” says Airport Director Ryan Adams. “Our mission is to introduce the world of aviation to young people and to inspire them to consider a career in aviation.  We also want to introduce pilots to our services and to let those who want to learn to fly know about the training opportunities they have available to them at the airport,” says Adams. “This is a wonderful event for all who share a common interest in aviation to come together in an enjoyable, family-friendly environment and to experience a great outing together.”

Free parking located at Gene Hurley Park, 965 Gene Hurley Road, DeFuniak Springs, 32435.  All guests will be shuttled to the event in wheelchair accessible vans and buses beginning at 8:30 am. The event site is mostly paved and exhibits on grassy areas are located on mostly flat, hard ground. Restrooms available at parking and throughout the event site.
