Freeport Veterans Memorial Committee making final plans

The Freeport Veterans Memorial Committee invites everyone to come share in the excitement of Veterans Day on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. in the afternoon at the veterans park located on the grounds of Freeport city hall at 112 Highway 20 west.

The committee has worked feverishly over the past year to bring the park to completion for this Decade Celebration and will be unveiling their final two venues at the park, The Grace Project, a tribute to all women who serve this great land, and Freedom Flame, the new eternal flame set in a reflection pond.

Everyone is invited to come and share in this amazing, historical day in the city of Freeport. Chairs will be available and social distancing will be in place when they are set up. Masks are encouraged. A reception hosted annually by the Freeport Town Planters Society will immediately follow the days events on the front porch of city hall. We hope to see you there!

Anyone needing any more information is welcome to phone Tim Ard, project chair at (850) 585-3304.
