On Tuesday, July 17, the Paxton City Council met for their regular monthly meeting at Paxton Town Hall at 5:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bobby Kemp. Agenda Items — First under agenda items, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Application/Engineer. Municipal Engineering was the only engineering firm to submit a proposal. Each council member completed a ranking for the firm and the motion carried to approve the proposal. Second, Resolution 18-03 to apply for a CDBG Rehabilitation Infrastructure Grant. The motion carried to approve Resolution 18-03 and approving Paxton Mayor Hayward Thomas to sign all grant documents. Third, Approval for Engineering proposal plans/permitting need approval before next council meeting for $26,776. The motion carried approving pre-grant expenditures of $26,776 for engineering plans for the grant and for the mayor to execute any and all contracts.
Old Business — The Okaloosa Amateur Radio Club (OARC) officers came before the Council to thank the council for the use of the Agricultural Building on U.S. 331 N in Paxton. The OARC officers stated that the response was great and that they have plans to hold the event again next year. In appreciation to the city, OARC presented a check for $100 to the city of Paxton . The city council thanked them for the donation. There was no Attorney Report, Mayor Report, or Department report at the July 17 meeting.
The next Paxton City Council meeting will be August 14 at Paxton Town Hall at 5:30 p.m.
