The Walton County Planning Commission will hold a special public hearing on Monday, August 21, 2017, at the Walton County Courthouse located at 571 US Highway 90 East, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, beginning at 5:00 pm, to hear the following items:

Consideration of an ordinance containing proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan including: substantially revising the Future Land Use Element including substantial revisions to both text and maps within the element; substantial revisions to the Intergovernmental Coordination Element; and deleting the Economic Development Element in its entirety. Also being considered, an ordinance containing substantive amendments to Chapter 2 of the adopted Land Development Code, including the creation of new zoning districts and the insertion of a new zoning map.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOP

Public Workshop Scheduled for Walton County Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code Update

SAVE THE DATES: August 14, and 15, 2017

As part of the ongoing Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code Update project County staff will be available to discuss the proposed Work In Progress Drafts of the Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Element and Intergovernmental Coordination Elements. A Work in Progress Draft of Chapter 2 of the Land Development Code will also be discussed which includes draft zoning regulations. These meetings are an opportunity to learn about proposed changes, offer input and take part in a group discussion centered on the changes.

The public is encouraged to attend this workshop. Your input is important and will help the county ensure that the Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code continue to serve the needs of all county citizens.

The workshop will be conducted in three locations throughout Walton County for your convenience with a similar presentation at each.
