Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of DeFuniak Springs, Florida , shall consider for adoption at the meeting scheduled for January 9, 2016, at 6:00 p.m . at the City Hall in DeFuniak Springs, Florida.

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 6, OF THE DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, FLORIDA, MUNICIPAL CODE ENTITLED CEMETERIES AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

A copy of the proposed Ordinance is available at the City Hall for inspection and all interested persons may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance.

REQUEST FOR BIDS

The City of DeFuniak Springs is seeking a subcontractor to provide internment, disinterment services within Magnolia Cemetery. The subcontractor shall provide all labor, material, supplies and equipment for the opening and closing of burial spaces, including set and sealing of vaults not supplied by the subcontractor, interments, disinterments, and other related functions at Magnolia Cemetery. Subcontractor agrees to perform such services, and shall include all labor, materials, supplies and equipment. City equipment or supplies shall not be used or provided to the subcontractor.

The subcontractor shall provide general liability insurance, workers compensation insurance, automobile insurance, and a performance bond to the city for internment services.

Those companies interested in providing this service are instructed to submit one (1) unbound original, and one (1) electronic copy (CD: PDF Format) of their qualifications pertinent to the scope of work, which can be obtained from the city’s website, emailing Loretta Laird at [email protected], or contacting Loretta Laird at (850) 892-8500 Ext. 223. All sealed submittals must arrive at the DeFuniak Springs City Hall located at 71 US Highway 90 West, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433 prior to 5 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017. Please mark on the outside of the submittal package RFQ: MAGNOLIA CEMETERY-INTERNMENT SERVICES. Any bids received after this date and time will not be considered. Bids will be opened at the regularly scheduled Cemetery Board meeting to be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, Cemetery Board meeting to be held on at 5 p.m.

The City of DeFuniak Springs reserves the right to reject any and all qualification documents received, to solicit new qualification documents, or take any other such actions that may be deemed to be in the best interest of the City of DeFuniak Springs.
