ON FRIDAY, March 13, the Freeport High School Concert Band performed at the FBA District 2 Concert Music Performance Assessment at Chipley High School. The Freeport Band scored straight “superiors” again this year at the District Level, including three superior ratings for concert performance and a superior rating for sight-reading. One of the concert performance judges remarked that “this band has been the highlight of my day!” Freeport’s ratings at District make the band eligible to perform in the FBA State Concert MPA which will be held at the Fort Walton Beach High School Auditorium on April 20. The band’s music selections for the State Concert Festival will include Washington Post March, West Highlands Sojourn, and Night on Bald Mountain. The performance on Monday, April 20, is open to the public. All are invited to attend and help support the Freeport High School Concert Band.
