The Walton County Design Review Board will hold a regular public meeting to hear projects beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the South Walton County Courthouse Annex located at 31 Coastal Centre Boulevard, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459.  The Board will hear the following items:

1. GLORIA’S MATTRESS KINGDOM MONUMENT SIGN – Project number 09-001-00004. This is a sign application submitted by Boardwalk Signs, requesting approval for a monument sign measuring 10’8” x 7’6” for a total of 80 square feet. 2. THE 3 THIRTY 1 BUILDING SIGN – Project number 09-001-00007. This is a sign application submitted by Jennifer Christensen, requesting approval for a building sign measuring 25” x 56” for a total of 9.72 square feet. 3. BENTLEY’S ON THE BAY BUILDING SIGN – Project number 09-001-00008. This is a sign application submitted by Jennifer Christensen, requesting approval for a building sign measuring 26.5” x 47.5” for a total of 8.74 square feet. The site is at 24200 U.S. Highway 331 South (parcel number 20-2S-19-24040-004-0140).

4. BOYS & GIRLS CLUB – Project number 09-001-00002. This is a major development order application submitted by Jenkins Engineering, consisting of 2 buildings on 32.02 acres with a future land use of Town Center 1. The site is located directly adjacent to the South Walton Coastal Branch Library, approximately 500 yards northwest of the South Walton Courthouse Annex (parcel numbers 30-2S-19-24000-019-0000 and 30-2S-19-24000-020-0000).

The Design Review Board will make a recommendation on major developments to the Board of County Commissioners regarding these items either to approve, approve with conditions or to deny.  Any item that is tabled will be scheduled for a future Design Review Board meeting and will not go forward to the Planning Commission until the Design Review Board makes a recommendation.

The applicant proposes to refurbish an existing structure and build 70,544 square feet of hotel in two phases on 5.67 acres with a future land use of coastal center. 7. VILLAS AT INLET BEACH PUD – Project number 08-001-00068. This is a major development application submitted by Century Bank, requesting an amendment to an existing development order. The applicant is requesting to limit height and adjust setbacks. 8. HOWELL ABANDONMENT – Project number 07-008-00003. This is an abandonment application submitted by William Howell, requesting the abandonment of the south 13 feet of the 33-foot access right of way extending 50 feet along the northern portion of parcel number 36-3S-18-16100-000-1312. The site is located on the south side of Winston Lane, approximately 514 feet south of Walton Rose Lane.

9. OWENS MINI WAREHOUSE & OFFICE COMPLEX – Project number 08-001-00069. This is a major development order application submitted by Greg Goodwin Construction requesting approval for a 5,967 square foot office building, 2 warehouse buildings totaling 7,000 square feet, 380 mini-storage units totaling 51,500 square feet, for a total of 64,467 square feet of commercial use on approximately 4.01 acres with a future land use of commercial. This site is at 26 Site C-6 Road, on the northeast corner of the intersection with Highway 20 (parcel number 12-1S-20-32000-067-0000).

10. MCDANIEL’S FISHCAMP A/K/A RVC USA FREEPORT – Project number 08-001-00064. This is a major development order application submitted by Porterfield Engineering, Inc. proposing to develop a commercial recreational vehicle park on 71.08 acres with a future land use of rural village. The site is on McDaniel’s Fishcamp Road (parcel numbers 02-2S-19-24000-034-0030 and 02-2S-19-24000-034-0040).

The Planning Commission will make a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners regarding these items either to approve, approve with conditions or to deny.  Any agenda item that is tabled will be scheduled for a future Planning Commission meeting and will not go forward to the Board of County Commissioners until the Planning Commission makes a recommendation.
