Methamphetamine lab bust on May 7
The DeFuniak Springs Police Department investigation has continued into the methamphetamine lab bust at Quail Run apartments on south 19th Street on May 7. The four suspects arrested that night have been charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, which carries a minimum mandatory sentence, if convicted, of 15 years in prison. The meth oil seized that evening was in excess of 200 grams, resulting in additional charges being filed.
Jason Rhodes, Lynn Banks, David Clayton, and Amanda Smith were charged with the new charge of trafficking in methamphetamine. At the present time, all of these defendants remain in the Walton County Jail under a $50,000 bond. The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are anticipated in the near future.
