A LABYRINTH IS A TOOL USED FOR RECREATION and meditation. This labyrinth at the Florida Chautauqua Assembly was set up courtesy of the Episcopal Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has no dead ends. The pattern depicted is based on the pattern built into the floor of Chartres Cathedral in France more than 800 years ago. The discussion of the labyrinth was one of the many programs presented by the Florida Chautauqua Winter Assembly in DeFuniak Springs. (Photo by Jeffrey Powell)
