The Planning Commission will make a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners regarding these items either to approve, approve with conditions or to deny.  Any agenda item that is tabled will be scheduled for a future Planning Commission meeting and will not go forward to the Board of County Commissioners until the Planning Commission makes a recommendation.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
PROFESSIONAL SURVEYING SERVICES FOR AVIGATION EASEMENT
March 21, 2014

The City of DeFuniak Springs (City) is considering the acquisition of an avigation easement  over a portion of the DeFuniak Springs Country Club and Golf Course, which is located adjacent to the DeFuniak Springs Airport.  The purpose of the easement is to obtain an interest in the airspace over the property.

To further this project, the City requires the services of a professional surveyor to identify corners and mark boundaries of a City property adjacent to the proposed avigation easement area; and prepare a boundary survey and legal description of the avigation easement area, which encompasses a portion of the owner’s property.

The City seeks a detailed proposal letter from licensed surveyors to prepare boundary survey and legal description of the avigation easement.  The letter should outline the services to be provided, fee, and brief summary of recent experience preparing easement surveys.

It is anticipated the Surveyor will provide a draft copy of the avigation easement survey to support the preparation of appraisals. Based on a preliminary opinion of value, the City may direct the Surveyor to modify the avigation easement area and produce a final boundary survey and legal description.  For a detailed summary of the tasks requested by the City, contact Ryan Adams, Airport Services Supervisor via ryan@defuniaksprings.net.

The City will accept sealed bids in hard copy format only until April 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. CDT. The proposals will be opened in the Council Chambers on the above date and time and read aloud. The proposals shall be marked on the outside of the envelope ÒSealed Bid Ð RFP Professional Surveying Services for Avigation Easement.Ó Sealed bids will be received at 71 US Hwy 90 W., DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433 or P.O. Box 685, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435. Any bids received after 2:00 p.m. CDT on the above date will not be accepted and will be returned unopened to the bidder. The City Council will award the bid at its next regularly scheduled Council meeting on April 14, 2014.
