The City of Paxton is applying to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) for a Fiscal Year 2013 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) under the Neighborhood Rehabilitation category in the amount of $600,000.00.  For each activity that is proposed, at least 70% of the funds must benefit low and moderate income persons.  The activities, dollar amount and estimated percentage benefit to low and moderate income persons for which the City of Paxton is applying are:

The City of Paxton proposes to request neighborhood rehabilitation grant funds to aid in the construction of substantial upgrade and rehabilitation to the Wastewater Collection System’s Lift Stations within the City of Paxton. Estimate grant expenditures for the proposed project are;

Project Administration: $48,000.00

The City of Paxton plans to minimize displacement of persons as a result of planned CDBG activities in the following manner: The City will assist all persons displaced as the result of planned activities in obtaining suitable replacement housing.

The public hearing to provide citizens an opportunity to comment on the application will be held at City Hall in Paxton, on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 4:00 P. M. Notice is given that stormwater permit number 1536 was issued on January 16, 2014, to Ridgewalk Development, LLC for construction of a residential subdivision, including roadways, utilities and stormwater management facilities.  Project is located approximately 2 miles south of US98/CR393 intersection, on the east side of 393 across from Ridge Road, Santa Rosa Beach, Walton County.
