Melissa Potter Costa, 52, of DeFuniak Springs, is reportedly in serious condition at Bay Medical Center following an automobile accident on Sunday, Dec. 20. The accident took place on U.S. 90, near SR-187, at around 3 a.m. Costa reportedly lost control of her car, which rolled over and came to a stop on the railroad tracks some 300 feet away.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that Costa’s car flew into the air, rolled twice and finally stopped in an upright position on the train tracks. A helicopter transported her to the hospital.
