RETIRED COL. GEORGE “BUD” DAY (l), reportedly the most decorated American Airman, passed away on Saturday, July 27. TRAFFIC MOVED slowly, but orderly this past weekend, keeping shoppers and drivers safe along the congested highway. Shoppers had plenty of choices this past weekend during the Highway 83 and Beyond yard sale event. The growing community sale began at the intersection of U.S. 90 and Hwy. 83 and stretched to past the Alabama state line into Troy during the first weekend in August.
