NOTICE OF INTENT OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF WALTON COUNTY TO AMEND BOARD POLICY

The School Board of Walton County, Florida, hereby gives notice of its intent to amend School Board Policy 6.13, Year of Service Defined for Administrative and Instructional Personnel.
PURPOSE, EFFECT & SUMMARY: The purpose and effect of the amendment is to no longer give administrators hired on or after January 7, 2009 credit for years for which they are currently drawing retirement dollars. This amendment will not affect current employees.

LEGAL AUTHORITY: FS 1001.41; FS 1001.42; FS 1001.43 & FS 1012.33

ECONOMIC IMPACT: The implementation of the amendment is expected to save the School District approximately $12,500 annually.

A public hearing will be held by the School Board of Walton County, Florida at 5:00 o’clock p.m. during the regular board meeting on January 6, 2009 in the Board Room at the Tivioli Administrative Center, 145 Park Street, DeFuniak Springs, Florida for the purpose of considering the proposed amendment. Any interested person may appear at the hearing and present evidence and argument and be heard concerning the proposed amendment. Immediately following the public hearing the School Board of Walton County, Florida will consider action to adopt the amendment.

The amendment will consist of a paragraph added to School Board Policy 6.13 that consists of the following text: “Effective January 7, 2009, administrators shall not be given credit for years of experience for which they are drawing retirement funds. This provision will apply only to administrators hired on or after January 7, 2009.”

If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the School Board with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, such person will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, such person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

The School Board of Walton County does not discriminate upon the basis of any individual’s disability status. PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Walton County Technical Review Committee will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 8:30 am at the South Walton Courthouse Annex in Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459. The following items are scheduled for review and action:

1. SCOTTY’S AUTO REPAIR – Project number 08-001-00061. This is a minor development order application submitted by Les Porterfield, consisting of a 3,600 square foot automotive repair shop on .57 acres with a future land use of industrial. The site is on Lynn Drive, south of U.S. 98 (parcel number 35-2S-20-33300-000-0160).

2. NEW HARMONY BAPTIST CHURCH ADDITION – Project number 08-001-00060. This is a minor development order application submitted by Barnhill, Barnhill & Barnhill, consisting of a 4,997 square foot church addition on 2.95 acres with a future land use of general agriculture. 3. PARK PLACE AT INLET BEACH REPLAT – Project number 08-003-00017. This is a plat application submitted by Ron Voelker, requesting a replat of a 10 lot single-family subdivision on 1.26 acres with a future land use of infill. This replat is to revise easements and building setback lines. 4. SEASIDE PIZZERIA – Project number 08-013-00031. This is a less-than-minor development order application submitted by Emerald Coast Associates, consisting of a dining deck addition on 1.31 acres with a future land use of NPA/RPA. The site is at 2236 C.R. 30A (parcel number 15-3S-19-25000-002-0100).

pursuant to the Summary Final Judgment of Foreclosure entered in a case pending in said Court, the style of which is listed above.

At the time of sale, the successful high bidder, other than the plaintiff, shall post with the Clerk a deposit equal to five percent (5%) of the final bid. The balance of the final bid shall be paid to the Clerk within twenty-four (24) hours after the sale. The successful high bid shall be exclusive of the Clerk’s registry fee and documentary stamps on the Certificate of Title. In the event of a third party successful bid, the third party successful bidder shall pay, in addition to the bid amount, the Clerk’s registry fee and any and all documentary stamps on the Certificate of Title. Any person claiming an interest in the surplus from the sale (if any), other than the property owner as of the date of the lis pendens must file a claim within 60 days after the sale.

Walton County announces the availability of SHIP Program funds for Rental Development. The funds will be used to support the development of quality, affordable, preferably mixed income rental housing for eligible persons through new construction, acquisition of property or existing rental units, and/or rehabilitation of existing substandard rental units. These rental development project(s) will be undertaken in partnership with a local Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO), Public Housing Authority (PHA), a 501 (c)(3) non-profit affordable housing sponsor, and/or private for-profit developers selected through one or more open proposal submission(s). SHIP funds will support non-profit and private-for-profit sponsored affordable rental housing developments typically in conjunction with financing provided by the Florida Housing Finance Corporation (FHFC), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), local bonding authorities, public housing authorities, or other similar rental development sponsoring agencies.
