ACCIDENT LEAVES TWO TEENS INJURED
An accident on Nov. 13 on U.S. 98 left two Santa Rosa Beach teens injured.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Destiny K. Hulsey, 17, was driving a 1992 four-door Toyota, with passenger Lindsay Clausen, 15, both of Santa Rosa Beach.
Hulsey was waiting to make a U-turn from westbound U.S. 98 into the eastbound lanes. A 2006 Hyundai, driven by Jared D. Vause, 25, and passenger Merinda D. Vause, 23, of Chipley, was traveling east on U.S. 98. Apparently, Hulsey pulled out in front of Vause’s Hyundai. The Hyundai struck the left side of Hulsey’s Toyota, sending it into a utility pole on the eastbound shoulder of the road.
Hulsey suffered serious injuries and was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Santa Rosa Beach. Passenger Lindsay Clausen sustained minor injuries. Neither Jared or Merinda Vause were injured. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash and all were wearing seatbelts. Charges are pending.
