WALTON COUNTY GETS NEW SHERIFF
According to unofficial results posted by the Walton County Supervisor of Elections office, there’s a new sheriff in town. Michael A. Adkinson received 16,421 votes (63.21 percent) and Danny H. Griffith received 9,559 votes (36.79 percent).
Incumbent School Board member Mildred Wilkerson won a close election, getting 12,393 votes (52.54 percent). Robert Nelson scored 11,193 votes (47.46 percent).
For Choctawhatchee River SWCD, Cathy Johnson got 13,062 votes (61.67 percent). Rodney Ryals received 8,117 (38.33 percent).
For Liberty Fire Dist. 2, Michael Graley took 924 (60.59 percent) and Dorothy Smith got 601 votes (39.41 percent).
Liberty Fire Dist. 4 went to John Bottoms, 989 votes (67.97 percent) to Wally Hancock, 466 votes (32.02 percent).
South of the Bay, John Magee took 5211 votes (57.49 percent) for S.W. Mosq. Seat 1, Jerry Crawford got 2,342 votes (25.84 percent), while Ronald Faulk received 1,511 votes (16.67 percent).
For S.W. Mosq. Seat 2, Jim Crawford took 4,596 votes (53.59 percent) and Adrianne W. Campbell received 3,980 votes (46.41 percent).
S.W. Fire Dist. Seat 3 went to incumbent Jack Abbit with 5,682 votes (63.67 percent) over Scott Thurston with 3,242 votes (36.33 percent).
S.W. Fire Dist. Seat 5 went to Ed Wright, 4,521 votes (51.18 percent). Jon Kazek received 4,312 votes (48.82 percent).
