Claude C. Duncan, 62, of Santa Rosa Beach, died on Oct. 29 when his vehicle inexplicably traveled across the northbound lane of CR-395 and ran onto the east shoulder of the road. He traveled some 185 feet and collided with a tree. A Walton County Sheriff’s deputy performed CPR on Duncan until emergency medical service personnel came. Duncan was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Santa Rosa Beach, but died.
The Florida Highway Patrol report on the accident stated that Duncan was wearing a seatbelt, and that alcohol was not a factor.
