STUDENTS WORK on creating the outer wall of their “Earthship” using plaster, old tires, empty cans and bottles as filler. The Walton Career Development Center’s full-time students have broken ground on a two-year project called Project Red Wolf Earthship. This Earthship endeavor, which is a completely autonomous structure, is currently being constructed on the school’s campus. The purpose of building the Earthship is to give the students an understanding about energy and water alternatives for homes and buildings, as well as to teach them how to better improve the environment in the process.
