    A yes vote was to approve the motion.

Second required public hearing
for an ordinance amending the county musical and entertainment festivals ordinance.
    A motion for approval by Pridgen carried unanimously: Brannon-yes; Comander-yes; Jones-yes; Meadows-yes; Pridgen-yes.

   Presentation by Ronnie Bell of projection by William Imfeld, county finance director, that $700 COLA for county employees could be funded in new budget from salaries and wages accounts, from which $754,000 is anticipated to be unspent at the end of the current fiscal year.
    Motion by Pridgen to provide the COLAs from this identified funding source.
    The motion was approved 4-0, with Meadows briefly absent from the meeting room.

Presentation by Sonny Mares, South Walton Tourist Development Council (TDC) executive director, of $57,300 low bid by Floridian Construction for renovation of TDC building attic as office space, to be funded through the TDC budget.
    A motion for approval by Pridgen carried 5-0.

  Presentation by Mares of $33,500 low bid from Sunset Builders for TDC storage building, to be funded through TDC budget.
A motion for approval by Comander carried unanimously.

Request by county legal counsel W.C. Henry to attend the Aug. 19 Value Adjustment Board (VAB) meeting as VAB attorney to assist in the appointment of a new VAB attorney.
    A motion for approval by Pridgen carried unanimously.

    Request by Henry for authorization to seek court order or stipulated settlement to recover repair costs for a county ambulance struck by a privately owned vehicle causing $30,000 in damage.
    A motion for approval by Brannon carried unanimously.

Request by Henry for setting of public hearing to consider changes to the county multi-use path ordinance.
    A motion by Meadows to set a Sept. 9 public hearing carried unanimously.

Proposal and motion by Comander
to draft a resolution opposing a dam proposed for the Little Choctawhatchee River.
    The motion was approved unaimously.

    Proposal and motion by Comander to schedule county staff hearings in Choctaw Beach and Mossy Head to receive public input regarding height limits on new construction.
The motion was approved unanimously.

Motion by Comander to set Sept. 9 public hearing for consideration of proposed changes to the county festival/special event ordinance.
   The motion was approved unanimously.

   Public hearing to consider ordinance limiting the height of new construction in a portion of the Point Washington community to 32 feet.
A motion for approval by Meadows carried unanimously.

    Request by Seaside Engineering for replat of the Coastal Dune development project to reduce the approved 17-unit multifamily development to 13 townhomes.
A motion for approval by Pridgen carried unanimously.

Request by David Kramer for small-scale amendment changing 0.72 acres across from Van R. Butler Elementary School from Residential Preservation to Infill for the purpose of establishing a day care center on the property.
A motion for approval by Pridgen carried 4-1: Brannon-yes; Comander-yes; Jones-yes; Pridgen-yes; Meadows-no.

Request by Darrell Barnhill for preliminary plat approval of Assisi Villas Phase I, consisting of a 40-lot single-family subdivision to be located on a 10.14-acre site on the east side of Thompson Road, approximately 1,400 feet south of U.S. 98.
A motion for approval by Meadows carried unanimously.
