FCAT MEAN SCALE SCORES IN MATH AND READING FOR WALTON COUNTY

The following are 2008 mean scale scores for Walton County elementary school grade-level three in mathematics and reading, for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). The range used is a scale of 100 – 500. All scores are for third-grade only. Other grade levels are expected to be released soon.
Mathematics: Bay Elementary third grade – 364; Freeport Elementary third grade – 346; Maude Saunders Elementary third grade – 336; Paxton school third grade – 350; Van R. Butler Elementary third grade – 354; West DeFuniak Elementary third grade – 336.
Reading: Bay Elementary third grade – 343; Freeport Elementary third grade – 325; Maude Saunders Elementary third grade – 311; Paxton school third grade – 322; Van R. Butler Elementary third grade – 336; West DeFuniak Elementary third grade – 327.
The above scores are all higher than those of 2007 for the same schools, same grade in the same subject, with the single exception of Paxton, which was slightly lower in reading for 2008.
Statewide 2008 mean scale scores for third-grade math and reading are 333 (math) and 313 (reading). Both these scores are higher than in 2007.
