Jul 24th, 2009 | 0

Staff Reports

Two people were killed and three others injured in a July 16 collision between a motorcycle and a family vehicle. Michael Morgan, 28, and Jessie Ecoffey, 42, both of DeFuniak Springs, are dead, while Kathy Ecoffey, 33, and Charles, 13, suffered serious injuries. Jessica Ecoffey, 11, was critically injured.
A Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report stated that Morgan was traveling west on West Royal Palm Avenue on a motorcycle, and drove through a stop sign at the intersection of Cottonwood Boulevard and Royal Palm, east of Mossy Head. Jessie Ecoffey’s vehicle, driving southbound, collided with him. According to the FHP report, only Charles was searing a seatbelt, and Morgan was not wearing a helmet.
Jessica’s and Kathy’s conditions were later updated to good.
