The City of DeFuniak Springs will be accepting sealed bids for replacement of fencing at the Florence Park tennis courts and playground located on the corner of Clay Street and Plateau Avenue, DeFuniak Springs.  The City will conduct a MANDATORY walk through on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 1:15 p.m. at Florence Park located at the corner of Clay Street and Plateau Ave. All potential bidders must be present at the walk through in order to submit bids on July 22, 2009. PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Walton County Zoning Board of Adjustment will hold their regular public hearing on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 6:00 P.M. at the South Walton Courthouse Annex in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459.  The following items are scheduled for review and action:

1. 30-A RESTAURANT GROUP ADMINISTRATIVE APPEAL – Project number 09-004-00001.  Jesse Rigby on behalf of 30-A Restaurant Group, Inc., is appealing an interpretation by Walton County Development Services Division Current Planning Manager Mac Carpenter, dated April 24, 2009.  The interpretation stated that the property no longer complies with the provision of the Walton County Land Development Code § 8.01.02 Continuation of Nonconformity, which allowed this non-conforming use to continue.  The project is a full service restaurant on 0.613 acres with a future land use of NPA/RP.  The site is at 3711 C.R. 30A West (parcel number 02-3S-20-34090-00E-0010).

2. ST. JOE TIMBERLAND COMPANY APPEAL – Project number 09-004-00002.  St. Joe Timberland Company is appealing the interpretation of Walton County Development Services Division Current Planning Manager Mac Carpenter, dated May 15, 2009.  The interpretation stated that any spoils removal activity will be considered both mining and development, and would require a development order.  The site is adjacent to 390 Serenoa Road (parcel numbers 03-3S-18-16000-001-0000, 04-3S-18-16000-001-0000, 11-3S-18-16000-001-0000, 13-3S-18-16000-001-0000, and 05-3S-18-16000-001-0000).

3. ST. JOE ICW SPOILS SPECIAL EXCEPTION – Project number 09-017-00001.  This is a special exception application submitted by St. Joe Timberland Company of Delaware, requesting approval to remove intra-coastal waterway (ICW) spoil material from the Army Corps of Engineers easement, which has a future land use of large-scale agriculture. The site is adjacent to 390 Serenoa Road (parcel numbers 03-3S-18-16000-001-0000, 04-3S-18-16000-001-0000, 11-3S-18-16000-001-0000, 13-3S-18-16000-001-0000, and 05-3S-18-16000-001-0000).

The Zoning Board of Adjustment will make a final determination to grant a variance, deny a variance, uphold the director’s decision, overturn the director’s decision, or continue to a later date. Any agenda item that is tabled will be scheduled for a future Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting.
