MICKEY MARSE was born and raised in Freeport, FL. His father was the first mayor of Freeport after its incorporation in 1963. Marse was first elected mayor of Freeport in 1991. Marse will begin his new term as mayor in mid-July. He was unopposed for the position. “I am not the normal politician,” said Marse. “The reason I originally ran for mayor is because I saw a need for better leadership and I am still here.”
