Hundreds take the plunge

Story and photos by JEFFREY POWELL A stiff southeast wind, high surf conditions and cool temperatures did little to detour the spirits of approximately 200 area visitors and locals alike that started off 2011 by taking a plunge in the Gulf of Mexico on Saturday morning, Jan. 1.

By DOTTY NIST County commissioners will be considering a development proposal involving the rebuilding of the former Wheelhouse Restaurant on CR-30A in Seagrove as a new restaurant known as 723 Whiskey Bravo. The public hearing for the restaurant is scheduled for the Jan. 11 regular meeting of the Walton County Board of County Commissioners (BCC).
